Just Some Info.

Alexis welcomes almost all commissions. Her strongest points are in mosaic, watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media. If you are interested in commissioning a mosaic, please contact Alexis with your preferences on tile color, ceramic or glass tile, and the type of piece you would like. She can mosaic almost any surface, whether it be a table-top, mirror or picture frame, flower pot, candle votive, and much more.

Almost all of her acrylic-based paintings include Indian Ink, pastel, and/or watercolor. Modeling paste is often added, as well, to achieve a more three-dimensional and textured piece of artwork. Her preferred subject matter is usually the human form done in unconventional color schemes. To learn more about Alexis, please visit About the Artist.

NOTE: Please refer to the Pricelist for a detailed list of all artwork and prints for sale.

How Commissions Work.

Many factors are to be considered when setting a price for a commission. Some of these include:

  • cost of supplies
  • size of project
  • amount of time spent upon completion
  • amount of detail and/or subject matter the project entails

Alexis purchases all of the necessary supplies prior to beginning the project. Estimated work time on a commissioned piece is about 2-4 weeks, however, if exceptions apply, she will make you aware of them upon sending your price quote.

Alexis does not deliver her artwork. It is available only for pickup in her home or insured shipment via UPS or US Postal Service (for those of you outside of Dallas/ Fort Worth, Texas). Price quotes for commissions do not include shipping charges, if applicable.

Half of the agreed price of the commission is to be payed upfront. Once the piece is done, the other half should be payed upon the date of pickup or before shipment. Cash and money orders are preferred. Personal checks are acceptable, but the check must clear before the piece can be picked up. As of now, Alexis cannot accept credit or debit cards.

Alexis is required to charge sales tax. By law in the state of Texas, all sales must be reported to the IRS at the end of the fiscal year, therefore, an additional 8.25% must be charged regardless of which state the customer is located in. This amount is included in all quotes.

PS: If you decide you will not be able to afford an original piece, prints are also available, and affordable. If there is a piece in The Gallery you like but isn't listed as available in prints, e-mail Alexis and she will do all she can to get one made for you. Please note the colors of the artwork on this site may not exactly match the colors on your monitor.

Get the Ball Rolling.

So you’re interested in getting down to business. Once you’ve decided the piece you’d like to commission from Alexis, whether it be an interperative reproduction of someone else’s style or a completely unique and original idea, please e-mail her with as much information about it as possible (the more information, the more accurate the piece will turn out). If there it is an image she should reference to while working on the project, please include it in the e-mail. She will reply as soon as possible with a price quote for the project, and go over specific details of the piece with you.

Authenticity.

Alexis signs all of her work. She can (upon request) include a small panel on the back of the piece which includes a list of the media used, and the date completed. She stamps the back of all pieces with her name and her signature jellyfish symbol.
