Alexis
Petruso developed her artistic skill with watercolor and
colored pencil, but has since moved into the realm of mixed
media. Her style is precise, with a focus on color, contrast,
and curve. She has strong aesthetic principles, and an interest
in beauty, both conventional and otherwise. She prefers
the female form as a subject, and positively refuses to
involve herself in photorealism, conventional portraits,
or any art involving children. Really.

After
briefly attending a private university, Alexis decided her
interests would be better suited in a school focused predominantly
on studio art. Though profit from her art would help fund
her continued education, her ultimate goal is to own her own
gallery or online store, encouraging others to broaden their
artistic horizons.
|
Alexis
currently lives in an apartment with her boyfriend Barry
and her two cats, Pacino and Danzig. She funds her projects
by working a full-time job in web maintenance and design.
Her evenings are currently spent exploring her new-found
interest in stained glass and three-dimensional mixed media.

On
her days off, Alexis can be found jamming to Nine Inch Nails,
supporting the ever-expanding flavor market of diet beverages,
or watching her favorite controversial TV show, Queer
as Folk. Her true happiness is found in her best friends,
Areta, Barry, and Matt.
She
enjoys collecting the art of her peers and hopes to, one
day, be an active part of the thriving DFW art community.
